BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. A meeting has been held between members of the Foreign Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Ties Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament and members of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (Parliament), Trend reports.
Chairman of the Azerbaijani Committee on Foreign Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Ties Samad Seyidov, welcoming the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Turkish Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee Fuat Oktay, expressed satisfaction with the visit of the Turkish delegation to the Azerbaijani Parliament.
Seyidov highly appreciated the activities of Oktay during his tenure as Vice-President of Türkiye and expressed confidence that his leadership of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Turkish Parliament will be successful for both Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
Speaking about the fact that relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are developing on the basis of the "one nation, two states" principle, Samad Seyidov spoke about the two countries' strategic partnership and alliance, which are at the highest level thanks to the friendship of the heads of state.
He noted the high level of inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, praised the joint cooperation of the two countries' MPs in international organizations.
Besides, he pointed out that the two countries' union, and cooperation in the field of foreign policy serve peace and stability in the international community, including making an important contribution to peace and regional progress in the South Caucasus.
Thanking for the high hospitality and sincere meeting, Oktay shared his warm impressions of the meetings held during his visit to Azerbaijan.
He expressed satisfaction with the successful development of fraternal and allied ties between the two countries in all areas and spoke about the future prospects of relations.
Speaking at the meeting, Azerbaijani MPs Asim Mollazade and Nasib Mahamaliyev, as well as Turkish MPs Kursat Zorlu and Utku Cakirozer shared their views on further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani Committee on International Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Ties Sevinj Fataliyeva, members of the committee Nigar Arpadarai, Sahib Aliyev, Javanshir Feyziyev, Sevil Mikayilova, Rasim Musabayov, and Kamran Bayramov, Turkish MPs Ceyda Bolunmez Cankiri, Ismail Ozdemir, and Mahmut Ridvan Nazirli, Turkish Ambassador Cahit Bagci and other officials.
