BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 5. A representative delegation headed by the Chairman of Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov has left on a visit for Kazakhstan to observe the referendum scheduled for October 6, 2024, a source in the CEC told Trend.
The visit, made at the invitation of the Kazakh CEC Chairman Nurlan Abdirov, includes planned meetings for Panahov with his Kazakh counterpart, as well as other officials, organizations involved in observing the referendum, and heads of election bodies from foreign countries.
The discussions will focus on the prospects for developing ties in various areas related to elections, cooperation opportunities, and issues of mutual interest.
To note, along with the Azerbaijani CEC representatives, the missions taking part in monitoring the above referendum also include representatives of the Organization of Turkic States and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The Azerbaijani CEC representatives will conduct observation on voting day at polling stations located in the capital and regions of Kazakhstan.
