“The results of the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan were heared at the meeting of the CE Standing Committee, which was held in Bucharest on Friday,” Samad Seyidov, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation at the PACE, told Trend.

Dutch MP Leo Platvoed, the head of the PACE observation mission, made a speech on base of his observations made during the parliamentary elections. “He highly appreciated the decrees signed by Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, in regard to the elections, as well as dismission of three heads of region executive power for some violations committed during the parliamentary elections,” Seyidov stressed.

Platvoet noted that despite some violations the elections was organized normally. “The rapporteur underlined necessity of free organization of rallies by the opposition, as well establishment of dialogue between sides,” Seyidov said.

The results of the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will be considered during the January session of the PACE.
