Рђzerbaijan may refuse from purchasing Russian electrical power

According to the press-release of the Azerenerji Joint Stock Company (JSC), the company does not rule out possible ceasing of the Russian electrical power import, Trend reports, citing the Azerenerji president Etibar Pirverdiyev during his address at the local Space TV channel.

According to him, the Russian side raises the issue on increase of the electrical power purchasing from the Russian Federation by Azerbaijan, to which Azerenerji JSC expresses its concrete disagreement. Pirverdiyev has not ruled out, in case a compromise is not found during the ongoing talks Azerbaijan may reject purchasing the power from Russia.

Azerbaijan currently imports 1 kWt/h of power for 2,8 cents. RAO В"EES RussiaВ" notified on increase of the export electrical power to 4 cents. The reason is the increase of the gas price in Russia, at the results of which the cost price of the power generation grew.
