UN committee on children's right approves Azerbaijan's activities in resolution of kids' problems

UN Committee Childrens Rights has appreciated the Azerbaijani governments efforts directed at enhancing the childrens rights in the country, the chairman of the Committee, Jacob Egbert Dock, stated to the 41st session of the committee in Geneva, which hosted hearings on the second periodical report by the Azerbaijani government on UN Human Rights, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced.

The chairman of the committee noted the progress achieved by Azerbaijan in the protection and provision of childrens rights, as well as progress in their brought up. The head of the committee also approved the successive efforts by the government, in particular, the measures and projects directed at the resolution of the homeless children.

In his remarks the head of the Azerbaijani delegation Khalaf Khalafov, the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, called the major priorities of the Azerbaijani government in the sphere of protection of human rights and freedom. He also spoke about the progress achieved in this sphere in the shortest period and underlined the necessity for the, necessity for continuing the efforts. The Deputy FM voiced his governments readiness for encouraging the efficient cooperation with the UN Committee on human rights.
