Yeni Azerbaijan (YAP) independent candidates will call off their candidatures in favor of the single candidates at the re-run parliamentary elections on May 13, head of the YAP press-service, Huseyn Pashayev told Trend.
According to Pashayev approximately 20 YAP members participate in the elections independently. Only 7 of them did not call their candidatures off in the favor of the party candidates from the single list. The rest have declined their candidatures. These 7 candidates will present their electoral program soon.
The head of the Central Elections Commission, Azer Sariyev told that the process on the issue is continuing. According to the latest information independent YAP candidates from Zakatal electoral district #110 and Kedabek District #103 have called their candidatures off in favor of single candidates from the party, he said.
YAP single candidates list from the Binagadi Electoral district #9 includes the Azerbaijan State University rector, Elshad Abdullayev, from the second Surakhani district #31- Odlar Yurdu University rector, Akhmed Veliyev, from the Zakatal district #110 Head of the SOCAR pipeline service, Rizvan Vahadov, from the Agdam district #119- Azerbaijan newspaper redactor in chief, Bakhtiyar Sadixov and from Sumgayit district #42, Medjid Kerimov
According to the YAP ruling Council all independent candidates should call off their candidatures in favor of the single list candidates.
