Seminar Upgrade of NGOs legislative base was held

On June 28, National Forum of Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs) held in hotel В"Crescent BeachВ" a seminar Upgrade of NGOs legislative base, through the support from the Civil Society Project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). For the purpose to improve the legislative base of NGOs, three bills were presented to discussion at the seminar, Trend reports.

Three bills On public unions, On foundations, On patronage of art were discussed and other laws were analyzed.

The president of National Forum of NGOs, PM Azay Guliyev presented information about the developed bills. He noted that the proposals related to the documents will be considered within a month. Right after this, the projects will be forwarded to international organizations for making conclusion. After preparation of documents, they will be presented to the discussion of Milli Mejlis [Azeri Parliament].

Besides, Michael Chunz, the head of the representation of Cointerpart in Azerbaijan, delivered a report. He noted that the project is intended for five years. Within the project, measures will be held over four spheres. The main activity is to unify the activity in direction of upgrade of NGOs legislative base.

After the interval of the working group working on the projects, consultations were held. The seminar brought together the representatives of international organizations and heads of NGOs.
