Honorary Consulate of Azerbaijan in Lebanon Returns to Normal Routine

Honorary Consul of Azerbaijan in Lebanon, Nazih Gassub, told Trend on 16 August that the Azerbaijani Consulate in Lebanon had been working under extreme pressure.

After the commencement of the Israeli air attacks, the Consulate had worked twenty-four hours a day without employees leaving the building. Gassub underlined that whilst the bombing had ceased for three days now and the situation had slightly improved, tension remained and citizens are still fearful.

The diplomat said a number of the one million Lebanon refugees were returning, particularly those from Syria. He did not exclude that Azerbaijanis were amongst them.

The Consul also added that international assistance, including assistance from Azerbaijan, had still not been forthcoming.
