Azerbaijan Defence Minister to Participate in Meeting of Defence Ministers of CIS Member-States to Be Held in Brest

Col.-Gen. Saffar Abiyev, Azerbaijan Defence Minister is expected to participate in the meeting of the Defence Ministers of CIS member-states to be held in Brest (Belarus) on November 23, Ramiz Malikov, Chief of the Press-Service of the Azerbaijan Defence Ministry, informed Trend.

The forthcoming meeting will be headed by Chairman of the Council of Defence Ministers of CIS Member-States, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Ivanov. The agenda of the forthcoming meeting will include approval of the Military Men's Aid and Rehabilitation Model Conception (those citizens who were discharged from military service, as well as members of their families, workers and officers of the Armies of CIS member-states, who took part in defending their motherland), as well as the Model Conception of Interdependence of the Forces of CIS Member-States with religious organizations to religiously and morally bring up military men and members of their families, as well as employees of the Forces of CIS member-states.

In addition, the united (joint) communication system of the Armies of CIS countries, peacekeeping activity, as well as completion of the activity of the working bodies of the Council of Ministers of CIS Member-States in 2006, and a working plan of the Council for 2007 are expected to be discussed during the forthcoming meeting as well.

Furthermore, a sitting in the form of a round table of the Military and Technical Committee of CIS Member-States on the topic Military and Technical Cooperation of CIS Member-States: Problems and perspectives is expected to be held as well.
