President of  Azerbaijan Attends Opening of New Grain Terminal in   Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend A.Ismaylova / On 4 April the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, opened a new grain terminal in Baku, possessing a capacity of 500.000 per year. $6 mln have been spent on the creation of the terminal. An Azerbaijani-Kazakhstan Joint Venture had been created to construct and launch the terminal. The first contract has been concluded with the Azerbaijani companies on delivery of 50.000 tons of wheat. According to the accounts of the specialists, the expenditures on the construction of the terminal and mill in Baku will be compensated within the period of 5-7 years.

The grain keeping capacity of the terminal equals 15.000 tons. In addition to the grain supply to Azerbaijan, the Kazakh grain will be transported to other countries, especially to Europe. Presently 60 new workplaces have been opened in the terminal.
