Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr.К.Zarbaliyeva / The law protection department seized 500kg of illegal drugs in the first quarter of 2007. The State Commission on the Struggle Against Illegal Drug Trafficking has reported that 52kg of drugs were seized from foreigners. Some 389kg of hashish, 85kg of marihuana, more than 58 kg of opium, 28kg of heroine and 500gr of acetic anhydrides were seized. As a result of the search about 234 tons of wild plants used for drug-making were destroyed.
