Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Agayeva /The Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejat will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on 21 August, according to Mejid Feizoullahi, a spokesman for the Iranian embassy in Baku.
A high ranking delegation from the Foreign Ministry and Government of Iran is currently in Baku to hold talks for the final coordination of the program of the visit and agenda of talks to be held by the Iranian president in Azerbaijan.
Earlier Feizoullahi informed Trend that during the visit the governments of Azerbaijan and Iran will sign new agreements on cooperation in the energy and transport sectors.
So far Iran and Azerbaijan have signed many documents, which cover many spheres of cooperation, including trade and economic, customs, agriculture, as well as science, education, health and military cooperation. "During the forthcoming visit the two countries will sign few documents," the diplomat said.
