Electronic Data Base for Journalists, Underwent Pressure, Originated in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 July / Trend corr. E.Aliyev / An electronic data basa for journalists, who underwent pressure and threatened due to their professional activity, originated in Azerbaijan.
The opening ceremony of the website with 103 questionnaires of journalists was held on 25 July. Over 20 journalists reject their data to be included into the electronic base due to their possible departure from the country and change of their political views.
The electronic data base was founded on he ground of $14,000 grand allocated by the Sorosa Fund.
At present, the three detained journalists held in Azerbaijan are Ganimat Zahid, chief editor of Azadlig newspaper, Mirza Sakit, a journalist of Azadlig newspaper, and Eynulla Fatullayev, chief editor of Gundalik Azerbaijan and Realni Azerbaijan newspapers.
