The trial over a person accused of trafficking of large quantities of drugs to Azerbaijan has been held today.

Today the Heinous Crime Court held a preparatory meeting on the criminal case of Iranian citizen Asadi Mammad Hussein.

The trial is scheduled for June 10.

Asadi Mammad was arrested January 8 by the police department of Imishli region. About 2,12 kilograms of heroin and 7.8 kilograms of hashish were revealed.

The defendant is charged under articles 206 (smuggling), 234.4.1, 234.4.3 (illegal acquisition or possession without intent to sell narcotics or psychotropic substances in quantities exceeding those necessary for personal consumption on a large scale, by a group of people by prior agreement or an organized group) and 318.2 (illegal crossing of state borders of Azerbaijan Republic) of the Criminal Code.
