"There are all the conditions for joint work of the CIS countries in the field of sports," Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said at the meeting.

He stressed the need to coordinate the actions of the CIS countries in nominating the candidates for the international organizations. He said that it is possible to achieve more qualitative training for sportsmen of these countries for international competitions by expanding athletic ties between the CIS countries.

Stressing the conditions created in Azerbaijan to prepare for sports competitions, Azerbaijani minister said that about 29 Olympic complexes have been already built and that another 10 will be built in Azerbaijan in future.

The Council Chairman was previously the Minister of Sports in Belarus for two years.
