Azerbaijan is not going to allow an artificial increase in prices for service packages for tourism companies for the summer season, the chairman of Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AzTA) Nahid Bagirov told Trend on Monday.

According to him, artificial increase of prices has not been observed yet. Usually tourism companies increase prices for services, when they are raised by hotels.

Thanks to Information Technologies clients can check the prices provided by companies online and compare them. Therefore, companies might loose their customers if they increase prices, Bagirov said.

The quality of services increases in both hotels and tourism companies from year to year, the chairman of the association added.

He also noted that the priority travel direction for citizens of Azerbaijan during the summer season is Turkey, especially Antalya.

Tourism companies have announced discounts for the summer season, Bagirov added.

If those wanting to relax in Turkey in the summer book hotel rooms now, they can enjoy a 15 to 20 percent discount. Booking a room now, you can relax in a five-star hotel in Turkey for 560 AZN per person for one week (if in one room is settled for two people), the chairman of the association said.

According to him, the prices of packages for those wishing to relax in the country or abroad are the same as last year.

"Some hotels in Turkey have increased the price of services, and some of them have reduced them. It is also important to note that the prices are the same as last year" - Bagirov said.

This year there will be slightly more flights from Baku to foreign countries, particularly to Turkey. This summer there will be two flights a day to some cities of Turkey, the chairman of the association said.

"This year, flights to some cities of Turkey will be cheaper due to their large number. We have analyzed the prices and have come to the conclusion that prices are normal in general," Bagirov said.

Until now, people in Azerbaijan preferred Gabala and Lankaran, because there are four-and five-star hotels there. This year domestic tourists will also be able to relax in the summer and winter tourist complex in Gusar Shahdag Bagirov said.
According to him, increasing number of hotels will increase competition, in turn leading to lower prices.
