BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 30. The remains of 185 individuals who died during the First Karabakh War and were buried in unmarked graves have been exhumed from 21 cemeteries across 13 cities and districts of Azerbaijan, Trend reports referring to the report of Gazanfar Ahmadov, Secretary of the State Commission of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons.
The report highlights that the identities of 74 missing martyrs have been confirmed among those exhumed from unmarked graves.
“To date, the remains of 613 individuals have been discovered and exhumed.
Through forensic molecular genetic examinations, the identities of 149 people who went missing during the First Karabakh War have been identified and publicly disclosed,” Ahmadov emphasized.
