BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 9. The number of "Azerbaijani Houses" operating in various countries has reached a significant milestone, now totaling thirty, the Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, Fuad Muradov stated, Trend reports.
Muradov highlighted the growing global network of these cultural and support centers speaking at the Azerbaijani Scholars Living Abroad Forum.
He emphasized the importance of Azerbaijani expatriates and the role these houses play in promoting the Azerbaijani language and culture.
"Each of our compatriots living abroad is valuable to us.
Developing the Azerbaijani language has been one of our main goals. Bringing our scholars together has been challenging. We hope that these scholars will contribute both to Azerbaijan and the countries they reside in. Azerbaijan supports this effort, and I believe that scholars living abroad could come to the University of Karabakh and share their expertise with faculty and students," Muradov stated.
The Chairman also spoke about the difficulties academics encounter, stating that problems with technology and language are major roadblocks. Although some scholars go abroad for personal growth, he noted that their experiences can contribute to ongoing activities in Azerbaijan.
The Forum of Azerbaijani Scholars Living Abroad is currently taking place in Baku.
