Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / On 29 March, the Court on Heinous Crimes of Azerbaijan, chaired by Judge Sadraddin Hajiyev, the preparatory hearing of the President of Barmek-Azerbaijan, Huseyn Arabul and 7 of its employees, has been postponed for the fourth time.
Due to one of the defence lawyers being late for the court session, the preparatory session has now been re-scheduled for 2 April.
The investigation into the case revealed that employees of Barmek misappropriated AZN 9,143,940 from consumers. The President of the Company, Huseyn Arabul, is accused, in accordance with Article 179.3.2 (appropriation and dissipation), Article 308.2 (misuse of authorities) and Article 313 (service falsification) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. The employees of Barmek-Azerbaijan, Vice President, Omer Guner Ismayl, Director of Technical Department, Vafa Agayev, former General Manager, Chingiz Ibadov and others are accused of Article 179.3.2 and Article 313 of the Criminal Code.
