Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Iran up in 11M2021

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Iran increased by 28.9 percent from January through November 2021 and exceeded $390.5 million compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports referring to the report of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

According to the State Customs Committee, export from Azerbaijan to Iran exceeded $39.2 million while import - $351.3 million during the reporting period.

Azerbaijan’s export to Iran increased by 6.6 percent on an annualized basis, while import from this country by 32 percent.

Thus, the negative balance of trade between the two countries reached $312.1 million, which is by 36.1 percent more than a year earlier.

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover as a whole increased by 32.85 percent or $7.5 billion from January through November 2021 compared to the same period of last year - from $22.7 billion to $30.2 billion.

As a result, while remaining positive, the foreign trade balance increased on an annualized basis by 178 percent or $6.01 billion - to $9.4 billion from January through November 2021 compared to $3.4 billion from January through November 2020.
