BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 2. Azerbaijan's SOCAR Polymer's product exports have reduced by 15.87 percent from January through June 2022 compared to the same period of 2021, the country's Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication told Trend.
During the reporting period, SOCAR Polymer became one of the leading exporters in Azerbaijan's public sector. Its exports totaled $81.1 million in the first half of 2022, down by $15.3 million compared to the same period of 2021.
SOCAR Polymer plants have become the first large-scale construction projects of Azerbaijan's petrochemical industry over the past 40 years.
The company’s production facilities consisting of polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plants are situated on the territory of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP). The PP and HDPE plants were commissioned in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
