BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. A total of 151 companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Türkiye in July 2023, which is 36 fewer companies than in the same period of 2022, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) said, Trend reports.
Despite the decrease in the number of registered Azerbaijani companies, their total capital increased during the reporting period.
"In the reporting period, the total capital of Azerbaijani companies registered in Türkiye amounted to 152.7 million Turkish lira ($5.7 million), and for the same period in 2022, it was 74.6 million Turkish lira ($2.8 million)," said the TOBB.
TOBB also noted that in July 2023, the majority of Azerbaijani companies were registered in Istanbul (128).
"The total capital of Azerbaijani companies registered in Istanbul amounted to 138.8 million Turkish lira ($5.2 million)," said the TOBB.
In general, 79 wholesale and retail trading companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Türkiye in July 2023. The rest of the companies are involved in other sectors of the economy.
