BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 30. Azerbaijan imported 64,000 tons of flour from Russia in the 2022-2023 agricultural year (from July 1 last year through July 1 this year), Trend reports.
According to the data, the indicator is three times (43,000 tons) higher than the same indicator for the 2021–2022 economic year.
During the reporting period, 795,000 tons of flour were exported from Russia, which is 50 percent more than a year earlier.
The main importers of Russian flour were Iraq (204,000 tons), Afghanistan (103,000 tons), China (82,000 tons), and Turkmenistan (54,000 tons).
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani food imports increased by 3.42 percent ($40.8 million) and amounted to $1.2 billion from January through July 2023.
