BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 26. The opening ceremony of the Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge 2023 (CIDC-2023) event organized by the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security of Azerbaijan jointly with the State Security Service of Azerbaijan is being held at the Baku Congress Center, Trend reports.
Lieutenant General Ilgar Musayev, head of the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security of Azerbaijan, made an opening speech at the event.
Within the framework of the event, for the first time in Azerbaijan, the final of the Cyberwarfare competition will be held with the aim of developing defense skills of critical information systems against cyberattacks and management of information systems in crisis situations. At the competition, which will be held with the simulation of cyber attacks, participating teams must ensure the security of virtual information systems. A total of 20 teams have made it to the finals. The winner will be announced on the second day of the event.
There will also be a presentation and panel discussions on information security issues, as well as free professional development trainings. Trainers include both local and foreign experts. During the two days of the event, participants will have the opportunity to attend trainings and an exhibition of cybersecurity solutions, participate in contests and virtual quizzes and win prizes. Those who pass the trainings will receive a certificate.
The event is organized to improve information security practices, enhance the knowledge and skills of employees of government agencies, critical infrastructure, financial and telecommunications sectors, and strengthen networking and coordination between the public and private sectors.
