Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 February / corr. Trend I. Khalilova/ The Reinforced Concrete Plant of Lankaran region of Azerbaijan have announced that it will change the profile of its activities and the plant will take orders on the cast-in-place concrete from March, Zakir Ahadov, the director of the plant said.

The plant was specialized in the reinforced concrete production with annual capacity of 45,000 tons in 1968, when it was established.

"We had to terminate the activity of the plant due to the partial stop in the reclamation works in Azerbaijan in 1992, as well as the absence of the orders at that time," Ahadov said.

Though the activities of the plant were restored in 1997, there is still a need to change the profile of the company as the building materials market of the country is developing in new conditions. Now, the reinforced concrete is less used not only in Lankaran but also in the neighboring countries as well.

Ahadov deems it very important to attract the investments to recover the production and to purchase vehicles to transport the building materials. The head of the plant asked the State Committee on Property Management to assist it in establishing the cooperation with the international financial organizations.
