CIS and East Europe Scientists to Discuss Regional Geosystem Problems in Europe and Caucasus

Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 September / Trend corr. M.Karimova /On 15 September, the scientific meeting of scientists and geographers from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and East Europe on natural and economic-geographic issues in the regional development strategy, launched in Taganrog, Russia.

Ramiz Mammadov, Deputy Director on Scientific Work in the Geography Institute at the National Academy of Science of Azerbaijan (NASA), represents Azerbaijan at the meeting. Mammadov is expected to deliver a report with regard to develop dynamically strained geosystem in Azerbaijani part of the Caucasus

In particular, the issue is about the Shaki and Zagatala regions, where similar natural damages, like landslide and heavy rain have become frequent.

The meeting is held within the scientific conference of the International Science Association (ISA) on the basic geographic problems and will continue to 18 September.
