Donor aid to Georgia already exceeds $600mln

Georgia, Tbilisi, Dec. 11 /corr. Trend N.Kirtskhalia / "Of $4.5bln allocated by donors, Tbilisi already received $602mln," said the Finance Minister of the country, Nikoloz Gilauri at the meeting of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Grigola Mgaloblishvili, with the donors.The Minister said that within the next few days, the Georgian government expects the aid totaling $332mln. "However, Tbilisi already has agreements on spending of $1.8bln," said Gilauri.

Due to the global financial crisis and taking into consideration those difficulties faced by Georgia, it is necessary to coordinate the work between the donors and Government, the Prime Minister said at the meeting with the donors. Furthermore, the Head of Government said that the community of Georgia must have complete information on spending of the funds being allocated.
