Trains Stuck in Ukrainian-Hungarian Border Due to Railway-men’s Strike in Hungary

Ukraine, Kiev, Dec. 15 / Trend corr Z. Novsvitskiy / Trains are not allowed to cross Ukrainian-Hungarian border because of the strike of railway men in Hungary.

According to the Public Relations Department of the State Border Service of Ukraine, on Dec. 14 the railway communication with Hungary was temporarily suspended. Freight trains, as well as Chop-Zakhon, Zakhon-Chop and Budapest-Moscow, Moscow-Budapest passenger trains failed to cross the border.    

In response to appeal by the State Border Service of Ukraine, the Hungarian border police said that the strike of Hungarian railway men which began on Dec. 15 hindered the trains to pass. The end-time of the strike remains unknown.

Spreading this information, the Ukrainian State Border Service recommends the citizens, planning to cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border by train, to shift the route if possible.
