In January-June Azerbaijan imported 722,000 tons of cement and cement clinker, which is 18.7 percent lower than the same period of 2008, State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reported.
Cement clinker in January-May was imported in volume of 310,400 tons, 21.1 percent lower than last year. Clinker was imported in amount of $10.1 million, which is 17.7 percent lower than the figure of last year.
During this period, the country imported 411,600 tons of cement, which is 16.7 percent less the January-June 2008. The cement during the period was imported worth about $17.65 million, which is 1 percent less than last year.
