Azerbaijan offers Germany to expand cooperation

Azerbaijan and Germany will expand the cooperation covering new spheres of production, as well as unused potential, the minister of economic development of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev said to the opening of the Azerbaijan-German Economic Forum.

"Azerbaijan and Germany have potential to develop relations in the spheres of industry, agriculture, truism, IT and healthcare," Mustafayev said.

German prime minister Baden Vuttenberg Gunter Ettinger said Germany is also interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the new spheres, such as processing of food products, mechanical engineering, and nanotechnology.

Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Ismat Abbasov said during the forum the businessmen are going to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the spheres of manufacturing, processing, packing and selling of the agriculture products. Azerbaijan is able to cover its demand in agricultural products and in future the country intends to export it. The forum meets these challenges, he added.

"At present Azerbaijan exports agricultural products to Germany. The export is mainly consists of products of processing, but we suppose to increase the volume," said Abbasov.
