In 2009, Great Britain preserved leading positions on investments in Azerbaijan. Total amount is 49.2 percent, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.

In 2009, Great Britain preserved leading positions on investments in Azerbaijan. Total amount is 49.2 percent, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.

The country's investments hit 726.6 million manat.

In 2009, about 87.3 percent (1289.4 million manat) were invested in the Azerbaijani economy by the foreign countries and the international organizations including Great Britain, the United States, Japan, Norway, France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Turkey.

The U.S investments hit 216.8 million manat (weight 14.7 percent), Japanese - 113.1 million manat (7.7 percent), Norwegian - 70.5 million manat (4.8 percent), French - 40,4 million manat (2.7 percent), Turkish - 55.9 million manat (3.8 percent), Czech - 34,6 million manat (2.3 percent), Korean - 12.22 million manat (0.8 percent), UAE - 3.66 million manat (0.2 percent), Saudi Arabian - 2.55 million manat (0.2 percent), Austrian - 2.18 million manat (0.1 percent), Swiss - 31,4 million manat (2.1 percent), Italian - 803,700 manat (0.1 percent), German - 300,500 manat, Kazakh - 1.68 million manat (0.1 percent), Russian - 864.2 thousand manat (0.1 percent).

The biggest amount of investments was allocated by the World Bank worth 93.9 million manat with weight of 6.4 percent. Asian Development Bank's investments hit 39.4 million manat (2.7 percent), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development - 21.29 million manat (1.4 percent), Islamic Development Bank - 3.47 million manat (0.2 percent), Kuwait Fund for Economic Development - 5.62 million manat (0.4 percent).
