Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov signed a decree appointing Tangriguli Gurbanmuhammedov Turkmenistan State National Airlines Deputy Head.

The latest government meeting heard a report on the status of civil aviation, an official Turkmen source reported.

Berdimuhammedov instructed the relevant officials to prepare a comprehensive program of development of civil aviation by late 2030, which, in particular, should reflect measures to regularly update the aircraft fleet by purchasing the most advanced aviation technology.

He said Turkmen pilots' skills should be improved in air transport both domestically and internationally.

The geography of flights from Ashgabat includes cities such as St. Petersburg, Moscow, London, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Bangkok, Beijing, Abu Dhabi, Delhi, Amritsar, Minsk, Almaty and others.

The company plans to open flights Ashgabat-Urumqi (China) in 2010, as well as flights to Munich, Paris, Rome and Jeddah. Flights will occur on cruise ships Boeing.
