KZT 19.6 billion will be allocated for the construction of "Khorgos-Zhetygen" railway. Kazakh Finance Minister Bolat Zhamishev announced it at the Government's sitting on 2011-2013 budget refinements on Wednesday, Kazinform reported.
KZT 10.2 billion will also be spent for the construction of "Uzen - border with Turkmenistan" railway, he said. KZT 4.2 billion of budget money will be spent for modernization of heat and power plant in the city of Semey.
"Khorgos-Zhetygen" project stipulates the railway line of298 km that will connect Khorgos,theSino-Kazakhstan border point, with Kazakh city Zhetygen. It will provide the shortest route for Chinese goods through Kazakhstan to Russia and the EU.
Work entrusted to ENRC-Logistic company which is a sub-unit of Kazakhstan's Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC).
