Georgia, Tbilisi, July 12 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /

Grain harvest in Georgia this summer has turned out to be the highest for the last 10 years. The ministry of agriculture of the country told Trend that it is a merit of the government's plan. The high-quality seeds of wheat were imported from the U.S.

According to the ministry, these seeds have proved themselves in Georgia. The farmers who used the U.S seeds, collected at least four tons of wheat per hectare. This greatly increased the average crop rate for the entire country.

"The program justified itself," Minister Bakur Kvezereli said. "Over the last 10 years, we have the greatest crop. The farmers' interest in U.S wheat increased."
