A total of 1.2 million apartments will be handed over to people in Iran in this solar year under the Mehr Housing project, IRNA reported on Wednesday quoting Iranian Minister of Transportation and Housing Ali Nikzad.
Meanwhile, 2.6 million apartments are under construction within Mehr Housing project.
So far, $420 million of financial facilities has been assigned to housing cooperatives operating within the project, he added.
Mehr Housing project envisages building cheap residential units houses for first-time buyers on 99-year lease contracts.
