Westland Helicopter Company proposes further ties with Turkmenistan

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with the head of international business relations at the Agusta Westland helicopter company Geoff Hoon, the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan said today.

Mr Hoon stressed the considerable interest of the company in moving towards further interaction with dynamically developing Turkmenistan, the article says.

Speaking about the current potential of the company, Hoon has provided the information about the progress of joint projects. He also voiced new proposals on further expansion of the business partnership.

President Berdimuhamedov said that these projects must be studied. He emphasised that Turkmenistan intends replacing its fleet by acquiring modern reliable airplanes.

The helicopters of the European company AgustaWestland are the fastest civilian use.

Thousands of helicopters are used in 80 world countries for different purposes. Agusta Westland has industrial centres in Italy, Great Britain and the U.S.
