Iran's vice-president and Head of Environmental protection Javad Mohammadzadeh will visit China to participate in the upcoming Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), IRNA reported.
Mohammadzadeh is planned to meet with China's prime minister Wen Jiabao to discuss the relations between the two countries, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
The first annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia will open Friday in China with the theme of New Century, New Challenge, A New Asia: Economic Cooperation and Development.
The regional gathering at Boao, a scenic town on the island province of Hainan, will attract political figures such as Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji, Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, Republic of Korea Prime Minister Lee Han Dong and Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, as well as renowned economists and heads of multinational corporations.
Topics to be discussed at the two-day gathering cover major issues such as regional cooperation, economic and industrial developments, and efforts to maintain regional benefits and improve the general competitiveness of Asian countries.
