The Turkish union of chambers and commodity exchanges will help Adjara to establish a free industrial zone.

The idea has been suggested according to Ajaria's Chamber of Commerce's president Tamaz Shavadze who was on a working visit to Ankara. He met with president of the Turkish union of chambers and commodity exchanges Rifat Hisarcıklıoglu, who expressed his organisation's readiness to take part in a free industrial zone establishment in Adjara.

Hisarcıklıoglu added that he will visit Batumi along with a large delegation in the near future and become acquainted with business opportunities and the investment potential of the region. Both parties have agreed to hold a joint business forum.

During the meeting, the Georgian side raised the issue of facilitating the procedures while licensing the products in Turkey within the free trade agreement between the two countries. It received preliminary approval. Border trade and the construction of the hospital in Batumi were also discussed.
