Gold prices up in Iran’s markets

Gold coin prices climbed in Iran's markets today compared to the previous week.

Old design gold coins cost $562 today compared to $526 last week and new design coins fetched $550 compared to $517, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reports.

The coins are minted and sold by the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

One gram of 18 karate gold cost $56 today up from nearly $53 last week.

Currency traders' exchange rates were 17,700 rials for the dollar, 21,850 rials for the euro and 27,450 rials for the pound.

Iran's official exchange rate for the dollar is 12,260 rials.
