The level of need criterion in Azerbaijan will be increased from the current 84 to 93 manats in 2013 to determine the amount of targeted social assistance (TSA).

It is stated in the draft state budget for 2013 and the next three years.

It is projected that the subsistence minimum in the country will be increased next year from the current 108 manat to 116 manat, including from 116 to 125 manat - for working people, from 84 to 94 manat - for pensioners and from 87 to 93 manat - for children.

Under the project, the state budget expenditures on social protection and social security in 2013 is projected at 1.81 billion manat, which exceeds the forecast of 2012 by 27.8 million manat, or 1.6 percent, and the actual figure in 2011 - by 318.2 million manat, or 21.3 percent.

Funds allocated from the current budget expenditures on social protection and social security, increased by 759.2 million manat, or 72 percent during the last 5 years (2009-2013).
