The World Bank will provide a $24 million loan to Kazakhstan for energy efficiency projects in the social sector, Kazakh Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies Kanysh Tuleushin said at the government meeting on Tuesday, the Prime Minister's press-service reported.
The corresponding agreement will be signed in the near future.
According to Tuleushin, 20 schools, five hospitals will be modernized and one street lighting project will be implemented within this program in 2014-2016.
With regards to the public sector, thermal modernization has been already carried out at 580 facilities, and automated heating units have been installed at more than 1,000 facilities, Tuleushin said.
