Kazakhstan’s gold, foreign currency reserves rise in January-May

Net gold and foreign currency reserves of the Kazakh National Bank increased by 0.3 percent to $27.8 billion in January-May 2013, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the Bank.

In May, this figure rose by 7.5 percent.

Gold assets decreased by 1.2 percent in May 2013 due to decreasing gold prices in the world markets, foreign currency assets increased by 10.1 percent.
Kazakh National Fund's assets increased to $63.3 billion as of June 1 compared to $ 57.8 billion at the beginning of the year.
