In the first quarter of 2013, Azerbaijan invested $38.4 million in Georgia. According to preliminary data by Gruzstat, $226 million was invested in Georgia by foreign investors in the first quarter of 2013.
As Gruzstat informed Trend on Monday, this figure is by $ 40 million less than in the first quarter of 2012 ($269 million).
According to the report, $ 219 million was invested in Georgia in the second quarter of 2012, $195 million - in the third quarter of 2012, and $181 million - in the fourth quarter.
In the first quarter of 2013, the largest investors in Georgia were Japan ($46.3 million), Azerbaijan ($38.4 million) and the Netherlands ($34.9 million).
As it was reported, foreign investors mainly invest in finance, energy and mining.
