Russia’s KAMAZ PJSC plans to assemble its trucks in Uzbekistan, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister Nodir Otajonov said, Podrobno.uz news agency reported.
The minister noted that Uzbekistan and Russia achieved good results in a relatively short period of time in industrial cooperation on the manufacture of automotive products.
“Agreements have been already reached with KAMAZ PJSC on the organization of joint production of heavy commercial vehicles in Uzbekistan and the supply of Uzbek components for assembling vehicles at the KAMAZ’s main conveyor,” Otajonov added.
In turn, Uzbek Minister of Foreign Trade Elyor Ganiyev expressed hope for fruitful work of the Russian truck manufacturers in Uzbekistan.
“We expect that together with KAMAZ PJSC, we will be able to assemble various types of trucks, including off-road vehicles,” Ganiyev said. “We are absolutely sure that this will give impetus to the development of our trade relations, because these projects will inevitably lead to the supply of components, equipment and technologies.”
