Cocoon processing plant to appaer in Uzbekistan

A plant for harvesting and processing of cocoons will be built in the Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan by the Agroglobal LLC, Uzbek media reported.

The project cost is $ 5 million, said the Deputy Director of Agroglobal LLC D.

The enterprise will carry out the entire technological process starting from the processing of cocoons to the production of silk products for export.

At the first stage, it is planned to carry out a major overhaul of the former car depot, on the territory of which it will be located, to install the cocoon processing equipment imported from China and to organize four workshops.

These workshops will be commissioned in the second half of this year, which will employ 200 people. Here, 400 tons of cocoons will be processed annually.

This year in each district of the region it is planned to build two modern granaries, re-establish 1,323 hectares of mulberry plantations and plant new ones.

The project will be implemented in three phases and completed by 2021. The annual export volume will be $10 million. The bulk of the finished products will be exported abroad.
