Turkmen Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina Ricardo Ernesto Lagorio, who arrived in Ashgabat to present his credentials, on June 4, the Foreign Ministry said.
At the meeting, the sides noted the need to develop a fruitful dialogue between Turkmenistan and Argentina.
The sides also noted the need to develop trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Touching upon the issues of political cooperation, the ambassador noted the role and importance of Turkmenistan's neutral foreign policy, as well as its relevance in ensuring security and sustainable development in the region and the world as a whole.
Earlier, it was reported that possibility of organizing meetings between the heads of Turkmenistan and Argentina is being mulled.
The parties also discussed creation of various transport routes and expressed their commitment to cooperation in food security and energy security.
