Uzbekistan’s State Unitary Enterprise Maxsustrans and the Latvian company Cleantech Latvia signed a memorandum of cooperation to exchange experience and consider possibilities for introducing innovative technologies in Uzbekistan in municipal solid waste management, the press service of the Uzbek company announced.

The document was signed following a visit to Riga (Latvia) of representatives of Maxsustrans to evaluate innovative methods for garbage processing with future possibility of obtaining biogas and thermal energy.

The delegation got acquainted with Riga’s urban water supply, water treatment, sewage and wastewater treatment, with strategic planning for development of infrastructure and reconstruction of all types of communications.

Maxsustrans representatives paid special attention to the local company Mappost SIA and their software-technical tool Mappost, based on geospatial analysis, designed for scheduling tasks, as well as capable of solving optimization problems of traffic routing, which allows to verify implementation of the issued tasks online, to save human and material resources, and minimize costs.

In January-August 2018, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Latvia amounted to $315.5 million, of which $28.5 million accounted for exports from Uzbekistan, and $287.0 million for imports from Latvia.
