The company Shusha LLC, a glassware plant owned by the Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation (AIC), will increase production fivefold, the AIC told Trend.

The work is underway to launch the second production line in the first production workshop of the glassware plant, the company said. This work is expected to be completed in February 2019, according to the AIC.

The plant operates at 40 percent of the design capacity and production volumes are 40-45 million glass containers per year, the company noted. After commissioning of the second line, the production capacity of the plant will increase to 90 percent, and production volumes will reach 95-100 million glass containers per year, the company added.

A warehouse for finished products is also under construction at the plant, and this warehouse is scheduled to be commissioned in July 2019, the company said. In addition, a second glass melting furnace is being built at the plant, and this furnace will make it possible to expand production to 200-210 million glass containers per year, the AIC added.

After commissioning of the second furnace and the second production line, 200-210 additional jobs will be created, according to the company.
