Two agricultural projects under implementation in Iran’s province

The implementation of two agricultural projects has been launched in Borujen county of Iran’s Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province with the participation of Iranian Minister of Agriculture Mahmoud Hojjati, Director of the Agriculture Organization of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province Zabihullah Gharib said.

The Damascus rose, asafoetida, echium and saffron will be cultivated on a 170-hectare-area at the Sefid Dasht complex of medicinal plants, Gharib said, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

Within the projects, 330,000 Damascus roses will be planted and 80 jobs will be created. Moreover, 150 billion rials (about $3.57 million) are expected to be spent for the implementation of the projects, he added.

The agricultural sector of the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province ensures about one-third of the population’s income in the province.

Moreover, 1.4 million tons of plants and products, namely, meat, milk, eggs are produced in the province and 30 trillion rials (about $714 million) are obtained per year.
