The resignation of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif can lead to a temporary economic instability in Iran, economic analyst Ali Hayati Nia told ISNA, Trend reports.
According to Hayati Nia, political parameters have a great impact on economic issues in Iran.
He added that Zarif’s resignation will create political and international worries, which, in the long run, will lead to economic worries.
"Zarif’s resignation can cause worries among businessmen," he said.
As a result, financial and economic markets will be destabilized, the Iranian analyst said.
Noting that Zarif’s resignation may cause alarm in some financial markets, including gold and dollar markets, Hayati Nia predicted a possible rise in prices.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced his resignation on his Instagram page last night.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has so far not accepted his resignation.
